Wide Call for DT
« on: August 12, 2018, 09:02:40 AM »
Being asked about the Wide Call for a DT by another coach and I can't seem to find any reference to it.  Any help on the Hows, Whens, and Whys of this call is appreciated.  Thanks.

Not sure what the book has on it, but I had my DTs over C gap and my OLBs were in SPREAD (outside of DE).

I don't understand why you would put DT in C gap when OLB is in Spread because that leaves B wide open? For me its a Auto in call.

I use Wide call for overloaded Offenses and I want to stone the End man. I say Stone but on all Wide calls we Bull Rush looking inside for us.

Just got done watching film on our week 2 opponent and they run UBSW so we going most likely Shift Left with a Wide Call.

I was just getting on here fixing to read about defending SW and knew I had to go Wide on it and Rush but just refreshing my memory on some things been a while defending it.

And could anybody answer what is the Sainted Six they supposedly run?

Power, Wedge, Counter, Sweep but not sure on other 2. Trap maybe? And a pass. Never ran it just say that but not what they are.

I think power pass (or sweep pass) and trap?

Maybe ask Dave himself?
