I have never ran GOD blocking just thought that from a friend in FLA that ran it and said DC's where eating him up. I have always taught Reed's wall blocking and double team blocks.
GOD blocking has worked well for us for the past 5 seasons at both 5/6th and 7/8th grade levels in what I believe to be a fairly competitive league.

GOD blocking creates doubles and down blocks. If you were running GOB I would say you need some athletic lineman as you expect them to get to the 2nd level. The sw has been very successful in our conference. I really don't think a 3 letter blocking scheme is hard. It get's confusing when you have a bunch of plays with a bunch of schemes. Front recognition with the kids verbally walking through the acronym progression is a big help. You can also TKO or SAB.

Thanks for the input. I just might have to order one of Dave Cisar's SW and learn more about GOD blocking.

I have never heard of TKO/SAB about to google it. That's why I'm here, DumCoach is what I am. I come from the school of teaching, inside gap, head up. 2nd level. And lately teaching Reed's wall blocking along with double teams.

it's prob the most comprehensive / current YOUTH football book in terms of an all-in-one. even if you don't run his system, which i may not next year, LOTS of great info that extends far beyond Xs & Os.

and you're already running his system (SW & WT6) so would be crazy not to for $25.
