GDL VS GOL
« on: September 07, 2011, 07:16:57 AM »
Just wanted to know the pros and cons of each. As far as which is better fit for certain type of linemen -small and quick, big and slow ect- and how each effects the defense, which type of O is better for each?

Im trying to get a handle on the GDB

The RG has noone in his inside gap or down from him over his inside lineman, so he goes LB. the RT has a man down from him. How do the linemen work to get to their man?  does the RG go behind and around the OT and RE since hs is downblocking the man over him and the RE is blocking gap?

the Backer rule is "backside backer" i believe.  are you running a balanced SW? I suppose with ZERO splits you could pull the playside G as you described while Center blocks right A gap

The RG does not have the B you show.  He's taking the same angle as RT and hitting the first B he finds.  It would look more like this:

------------B
....................T...E
-----E-T-G-C-G-T-E
