Mark Bliss is a native of Medford, Oklahoma. After graduating from Medford High School in 1982, Mark attended Tulsa University in Tulsa, Oklahoma on a football scholarship where he played the position of quarterback. He later transferred to Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas where he led his team to the 1984 National Semifinals, #3 National Ranking, and Multiple Conference Championships. He was 26-9 as a starting QB in college. Throughout his career Mark received numerous post season honors including: All Conference, All District, All State, Offensive Player of the Year, and All American.  He finished his collegiate career and earned a Bachelorís Degree in Education. He later earned his Masterís Degree in Secondary Administration from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva, Oklahoma in 1994. Since 1988, Mark has coached football at various high school and collegiate levels. Mark spent 7 years in Conway Springs, Kansas as the head football coach of the Conway Springs Cardinals. During that time, he amassed an 81-4 record along with four Class 3A State Championships. His teams started a 62 game win streak which was 2nd most consecutive wins in Kansas High School history. Marks teams during his career have received national recognition in Sports Illustrated twice, ESPN Magazine, and Bigger Faster Stronger Magazine. He has coached 3 Top 100 Nationally Ranked teams. In 2000, Mark received the National Federation of State High School Associations Section 5 (7 state region) Coach of the Year and was a National Coach of the Year Finalist. . Mark has coached 20 Division I athletes, 6 High School All-Americans, and 1 ESPN top 300 Player. Mark was a 2011 and 2012 Hall of Fame inductee.

 Mark has been married for 25 years to his childhood sweetheart, the former Jill Kretchmar of Medford, Oklahoma. They have four daughters: Ashlie, 23, Emilie, 21, Kaylie, 18; and Natalie, 16.
