These threads make so many turns you sometimes miss the point. Just took a look at the brochure. I know alot of extremely experienced coaches will attend but this clinic can turn around the fortunes of a not so experience coach like myself. All the topics touch on knowledge in areas that may take years of on field trial and error to obtain.

PRESENTATION TOPICS:
1.       Developing Aggression and Physicality in the Youth Football Player—Coach David Potter—NC
2.       Implementing a Zone Blocking Scheme for Youth Foot-ball-Coach Joe Cianflone –FL
3.       Tips and tricks for New Coaches—Coach Mike Mahonz, CO
4.       Teaching Fundamentals, Techniques and Skills: YOU KNOW WHAT YOU WANT. NOW, HOW DO YOU GET THEM DO ACTU-ALLY DO IT?-Coach Michael O’Gorman, IL
5.       Coaching Successful Defense at Youth Level-Coach Daniel Lyons, IL

I think if you take in just 2 of these topics, that alone will translate to better preformance on the field. And when you add to the presenters, attendees like ZACH, Coach Moody and others, their is a good chance you actually learn something just eating lunch and listening to small talk.

Ouch...LOL!

Now I gotta know what town he came from Daniel. Because I've never seen a TCYFL team beat a Pop Warner team when even close to evenly matched. But there are a couple weak ones out there.

I will give you this. Your Leagues(TYCFL) coaching is Vastly superior to most of the Pop Warner Coaching.

TW

Our team was Huntley and I was referring to Algonquin http://www.algonquinargonauts.com/ which is right next door to us and takes kids from our org.

I haven't seem them play so maybe I am speaking out of turn, but I am fairly certain we have most of the best available kids in our area.

We lost a few studs to a private school league - and we lose a lot to baseball and hockey, soccer, etc., we lose some kids that mom won't let play - but I don't think Algonquin is getting a lot of them for football.   I am pretty sure we would murder them head to head based on talent alone.

I know the Elgin TCYFL team is beyond terrible - they get blown out by teams we would blow out in first quarter  - but I thought maybe you guys had something to do with that.

No joke I was sitting here getting ready to type out my "used the dcwt at 4 levels this year" thread and I remembered a guy named "big coconut" was talking about doing it and wondered where he was these days.

So I guess we should have to wear name tags that have all of our past aliases on them. LOL!

Ah yes the argo's yes their older teams have never faired that well. In fact they often don't have them. The ones they have had have been one man shows. Maybe the one man is the one you got. LOL!

Elgin TCYFL is like any of the other myriad of towns that have tons of talent and are lazy about it. If they can sweep ya, they can beat ya. If not you got em. They win tons of games at the lower levels. Then they turn 10 and they can't outrun everyone anymore and thats where the party ends. LOL!

The kid I was talking about earlier came from there.

Coaches change from year to year.   Many of them move up with their own kids and who knows how much weight kid is going to gain from year to year.   Vast majority of our coaches are dad coaches.   So I have no idea who featherweight coach is going to be next year.

Most of time pre-season scrimmages are set up by the board.

For the record....I am not including anything SW in my presentation but if anyone is interested I have finally figured out how to stop that damn Offense dead in its tracks.... because I HAD NO CHOICE thanks to Coach Cisar.  >:(

The UBSW is like the Plague in my neck of the woods. Very popular Offense right now until they have to play my team.  ;)

I am the Anti SW Coach now.  8)
