Rob, it happens everywhere.

My HC and his friends - Me (we run DW)

Why can't the PSWB block the DE(on Power), he's closer. - his angle is bad and we're not here to reinvent the DW offense.
But I saw the film, the FB missed the block and the RB was tackled by him - The RB took our Power to the 10 hole, the DE was only a threat when the RB was wrong.
But what if the DE is big and strong and the FB has problems - we fix that by formationing him out or offsetting the FB
Huh? - let's just double team the DE - With who?
The PSWB - Who blocks the FBI?
The what? - look, we're running it my way, I'm done here.

Yea that definitely gets frustrating.

I realize you were being somewhat rhetorical, and not actually arguing the point, but just as an FYI, Murphy now blocks the DE/OLB with his WB.  His reasoning is more valid at the HS level, since his WB is a better match up outside than against the ILB's, and the angles are better with the defenses he sees.  FB still kicks first guy he sees, and the G ends up on FBI.  It actually made sense when you watched his film.  But again, that's against the 4-4's he sees, and with big time talent differentiators.  Our WB's are usually among our best players...

I am hopeful that I will have the chance this summer.  My sister and two brothers live there, so I'm hopeful to come out and spend a week with them.

Who was the head coach?

Yup, we talk everyday. I doubt he'll coach again though. He and another friend didn't realize the commitment it is to coach youth football. Once they seen how serious I take coaching, they backed off with the questioning. They realized I put way more time in researching my methods then they have. Alot of people feel coaching is something you can do in your spare time, throw an offense together and put a good product on the field. Once he seen my dedication he stopped questioning my actions. When I hear a assistant say " wow you really take this stuff serious huh?" I know this isn't for them.

I think the real issue is  asst. coaches want to take ownership of something. They want to feel like we're doing something because THEY chose it. I think the season started out as OUR (coaches) team, and ended as MY (coach robs) team.. Even though I didn't want it to be that way.

Rob, in the future you'll be able to use that experience to better screen coaches and find out who's the right fit for you and your team.

Just advising how about giving them a little and let them learn and then as they progress give them more. MY cr coach always said coach lets do this and this talking about the line stunts I always said no they are not ready and cr's would get burned or not filling gaps properly. I would go and fix it before playoffs this was 6yrs ago then 2yrs ago we got burned at cr again on a slant(we play b&r inside shoulder or split don't give inside releash) make them throw a fade. Know cr coach say the reason you don't listen to me is because I don't do my part I said yes it's a give and take I gave you cr's you take dline we have 2 dline coaches after  that he locked in that year and cr played better last year he said we need bigger cr's because they are out jumping us height wise instantly I give him 1 1st qtr lb and 1 2nd qtr lb without even thinking because I know he is doing his part.
Sorry for talking give him something and tell him to Make me a believer(Mission Statement last year)

OK, well, you fekkers are messin' up my point...that said, I want to see any/every video that I can of a DW team vs. a 4-4.

Whatchagot?

I beat the crappoutta one in the Championship game and was shut-out by one in the Superbowl. (I know, we turned it over 5X...BUT, we had trouble moving the ball....still outgained them tho, the TOs did kill us)

So what is it you'd want to see?

Start throwing some ideas out there.

--Dave

I'd like to see one big honkin' national clinic. One BIG event. The road show deal is not as attractive. I would like to see it held once per year.

Time to schmooze with other coaches.

Let coaches tape there...let presenters know.

Prefer to avoid a big commercial setup.

Just a huge gathering of coaches that want to share. If it was up to me (I know its not!!), I would prefer later, say "Juneish", when weather is warmer, and in a nice locale so coaches could combo with vacation time.

Be nice to have a local team(s) to demo drills/schemes/etc.

Try and hookup with a school or small college, if possible to keep costs down. Do not need a fancy hotel.

Somewhere in NC would be a good start ;) Do your own version and host there. NC has many nice spots and good access. I'd be willing to help.

Just my humble two cents. Thanks for asking!

"I'd like to see one big honkin' national DUMCOACH clinic. One BIG event. The road show deal is not as attractive. would like to see it held once with all the folks that come on this site."

--I dunno which would be cheaper, taking the mountain to Muhammed or Muhammed to the mountain.

"Just a huge gathering of coaches that want to share.
Be nice to have a local team(s) to demo drills/schemes/etc."

--That's Jack's DWS format in a nutshell.  Except that it has heavy emphasis on the Double Wing.  There's some defensive material and whatever topic I'm speaking about.

"Try and hookup with a school or small college, if possible to keep costs down."

--We've got lots of small colleges around here.  And an even smaller high school.   ;)

"Somewhere in NC would be a good start"

--The problem with an east coast location is the same problem as a west coast location.  That's why I was thinking that the clinic would be brought to that organization."
