Thanks,  we are prepping best we can. The track keeps changing & it's it's a monster.

I was very worried we would have 2 weeks off in a row. That would have things rough for us since we start district play next week.

The team we play seems to be making the most of the new transfer rules. They have 9 transfers all starters. The HC & OC are former FSU & Florida stars, each had a dance in the show. It's their first year at this school, & man is their D wicked. They have been coaching HS at a very high level for 8 or 9 years. We are expecting a real battle. Our big concern is by switching the game we lose a day of practice.

I just had to look up who you guys are playing, Joe. Their OC was one of my favorite players when he played in Gainesville.

How are you guys doing?

Joe

We won our first game 6-0. We left at least 2 TDs on the field and our only score came from smoke. I wanted to go full Joe Spread but we only run out of Ace from gun. The ironic part is I will now be able to run more than just Ace because I am switching to be the OC for our 12U team because my HC is taking over that team too and we are creating one big staff and their original OC left due to family reasons. My HC will be running 14U O. We are going to run from UTC on 12U and we will hopefully if all goes well, be a primarily power/counter team with a couple PAPs thrown in. This team hasn't scored a point yet, so hopefully after the hurricane blows through we can start to get them on track and put some points up on the board or else it is going to be a really long season. Right now they can't block to save their lives, so we have to get that fixed or it won't matter what we run.

I just checked to see how you guys did. Did you guys have a bad game or were they that good?

First day back with power!

It was really a combination. They were good & well coached, & we didn't play well. The turnovers killed us, but not blocking their LB's was a bigger issue.

This Friday's game has been postponed, no idea when it will be rescheduled. No school until Monday, so we are scrambling.
The school still doesn't have power.

I really wanted to jump our QB for a bad game then I watched film, he played well & he played hard.

So why did you have issues blacking their LBs? Were they that good or did you guys just not climb to the second level that well? Oh and I still don't have power.

Thank God for film.  So many times our game day impressions are inaccurate.  The key, of course, is keeping emotion in check until AFTER you reviewed the film!
