Spring 2018
« on: April 23, 2018, 06:31:09 PM »
First official day of Spring Practice. 126 players, still missing our Spring Sports guys. Over all it was mediocre at best. Defense should be pretty good, Offense needs a lot of work.

Long day today, the QB who has the most experience packed it in today. His body just can't handle another season.

Spring sports mean we are missing many starters, trying to adjust the offense to more RPO's it just is difficult.

Is Pringle playing QB for you? I think he was one of your freshman QBs last year.

The Starting Frosh QB is also a Varsity LAX player. His name isn't Pringle. LAX is making another run to the states.

Hmmm. This kid wouldn't be a LAX player. I haven't talked to him in a while but I know last time I checked, he played for you guys.

The player you are talking about is going to be a senior and hasn't played in 2 years.

I checked your roster and didn't see him. I also just checked and saw he was supposed to graduate in 2020. I wonder why he gave up football? He is a really smart kid and was a good athlete. He was also on the first AAU football team that I coached.

First day in shells, & we went at it pretty good. The LAX QB's weren't there so we had to our SS, he played QB when he was a Soph. He actually did a very good job. The RB's ran hard, we are getting better but there is still so much work to be done.

Friday was a good day for both sides. Had only one QB, a converted FS, he did a good job. Defense ran some 3-4 & was just vicious. LAX lost last night so we will getting back 5 players & that will help. 2 are QB's.

Strange game, we go in missing 6 starters on offense, and 3 on defense. It seemed to me we were trying for the last 2 weeks to find a way to have some offense. Defensively we have been stout all spring & I was excited to watch them against fresh bodies.

The coaches & I are thinking if we can just not turn the ball over we will be ok. Well we get the ball first, second play our B-Back breaks his leg, surgery today. We drive 75 yds never having a third down. We had 7 drives & scored on every one.

The defense mauled their offense, the starters gave up one first down on a PI penalty. Typically they lost 5 yds a play. It was ugly beyond words.

Final Score 44-0, even our freshman QB scored.

I am not sure we are any good, just  that they were really bad.

I really hate when kids get Injured like that.  Hope surgery is minimal

S

He had the surgery this am. I am waiting to hear how it went. He is a rising Soph with a dynamic future so I too am worried. Then a star defender was in a car wreck last night. Totaled his car, but just bumps & bruises.
