Boe,shift and stack is just moving the tb and qb around 5 min install, and will help things get going also. Are they stacking the box? If so jet,qb stretch, wb reverse, and fb jet/ice, and pap should be there.Give more specifics so we can trouble shoot it and get it going.Going dw is great same plays only with added motion but sounds like there is a added underlining problem .Personnel ?Do you have any film.

I do have film. Right now all my computers are all down. Always on my phone here. We actually have the holes open. It's just the running backs not running. The weight limit is killing me. All these guys are TIMID!! And then I have my ad that weighed in the kids with a crappy scale. Which says my stud guard is 140 lbs. I know better and told him I wish. Have had several adults say "hey he was legally weighed in an recorded" but I am trying to teach these guys character and where would that put me if I ignores the fact that we all know he is over.

They previous team stacked the box yet had some spurs that shut down anything outside. I can't throw so I have issues. 35 gap was working well and 21 trap. The holes were there on the blast but we can not block in space.  I cannot pressure with my QB he cannot get outside of the end.

Lots and lots of issues. I'll try to see if I can email you the video. Trying not to bug people during their season.

Some of the issues I am dealing with. 2 examples! :(
#1
While working on 80 flood. I told my wing I wanted him to run a post. (I know it's not part of the flood, but everyone follows the post) I told him 7-10 yards and cut in and throw his hands up to look like he is open. Of course as expected it was run wrong. Walked him through it. Ran it again. Now mind you I am standing 5 yards off of my wing. He takes one step and slants inside of me.

#2
Cowboy rt fly rt. naked boot. Sounds easy right?  I had chalked it. I walked th through it explaining what I needed. Then ran it. First QB followed the fly back. I wasn't happy 2nd QB followed fly back= less happy 3 QB. Yep you guessed it followed the friggen fly back. I had shown each time what we needed.  Finally the 4th QB says coach I can do it and actually got it.

Frustrated.

Are you teaching the Fly from utc or shot-gun? Really don"t  see how they are not getting it.utc on fly rt are is the qb should open lf , and shot-gun he can drop back (fake pass) which should be set up off a pass or fake an iso/draw.

Yeah Durfee. I really don't see how they are not getting it also. We are out of shotgun and pistol always. It honestly is very frustrating. I seriously can walk it through with one of my players and then have them do it and they will do something completely different. Literally seconds after they just walked it with me.

We  scored a 25 yd td on a naked boot off 26 power, and the bs de and corner were so far sucked in and the fs showed up for run support, they seem to just give it to us   :), we do run everything from utc and shot-gun,ds in stack is very good, and jet pass is there.

Won 16-12

Lots of stuff to fix, but it's nice to get a win under our belts. Scored on 35 gap and 45 counter.

Still having issues with my backs hitting the hole hard on power, jet was getting killed by d ends and corners blitzing. Ran it to set up 45 counter. They were stacking the full back side. In a 6-2 and walking corner up. Wish I could pass. :) tried flood once but QB had 3 on him immiedialy. Thank goodness he held the ball instead of throwing.   We are going to be working on blocking in space a lot. Whiffs by my wing and full back all game.

Ran 10 wedge, 21 trap for about a 4 yd average. Went cowboy one series and had decent gain on fly and naked boot but my cowboy QB got hurt and had to stop running that. Still looking for someone that can pass.

I play an 8 man team next. Still waiting to see if I can use 11 on offense and they use 11 defense. Then I'll use 8 defense for their 8

Well we have to play 8 man offense. They cited safety concerns because their roster was not deep enough. Stating they had 5th and 6th graders on their team. Problem is for those couple 5th/6th they match it with equal 8th should be 9th graders. :(

Widened our splits a bit. Tried to install some bellie blocking. That didn't go over so well. Went back to dbl team kickout. I am going to pull both guards on jet, down blocking with te since we have no tackles now. Our Fb will step out to wing on jets down blocking d end if they are on the te or reach him if he steps out. Fb at wing will give us the counters off of jet. 27 jet looks the best. My left guard gets out quick and leads the way. 21 trap also looks like a big gainer. Blast and stretch also look good. Now it just to see how it goes.

The boys have requested bear crawl ladders and TeeTime as warm ups before the game and want to run Enduro after. I spoke to them about getting the mind set that they will never lose again on their home field. Spoke about most of them having 5 more years playing on this field and now is the time to install the never lose mentality. I stressed that set backs would happen and when they did they needed to band together and dedicate themselves to work harder and regain the can't be beat mentality. Pretty proud of this group. Not the most football smart but they are getting there and dedicated.

8 man power pistol dominates. Over 300 yards rushing 50 yds passing.

Score was 50-6

6 different backs scored.

I took out the wing. When I ran 28/27 jet I had the full back bounce out to the wing back position to get him closer to his block. And so I would have the counter off of the jet. In this game I pulled my play side guard along with backside. The were in a 4 front. Center blocked man away, playside TE/tackle down blocked d guard, wing/full back reached or down blocked D end depending on alignment. It worked great. May be pulling playside guard from now on against 40 fronts. Tackles are to slow :)

Just finished watching film. At about 4:30 a.m. Couldn't sleep, thought of the spread team we lost to in game 1. We play them again next Tuesday. So I've been watching the game film, we are a completely better team in all phases now. I know they will have improved also. Should be a good game.

We out matched this team we just played. However their core group were older and stronger than us. The kid that had the kickoff return at the end was one of their should be freshmen. From te 2nd series on I was subbing everyone I could. Proud of my guys. They played clean ball and had great sportsmanship.

My athletic director came down when the score got to 36-0 in the 2nd quarter. I saw her speaking with the assistant coach. Making sure we were subbing. Basically asked me not to score. I told her that we were not using any starters in the backfield and also that this same team didn't let up on us last year when they were killing us, then reassured her we would not put starters back in.

My first blow out. :) I did all I could to keep the score down. I am not going to ask a 3rd string running back to take a knee before the endzone or run out of bounds. It is not fair to them. We were going to kick field goals but dang 4th string QB scored a TD.

On a defensive note...
We held them to 1 passing yard on a WR screen and the had -46 yards on the ground. Again subbed like crazy. Had 60 pound kids playing d guard against their 225 lb kid. Their center was 180 left guard 225 and rt guard 195. Watching the video I kinda felt bad they just could not move the ball they had 9 series and not one first down or yard.

On to the next

Showed up for our scheduled game today. Lucky it was only a half hour bus ride. We showed the 15th. They showed the 16th. Their team was not at the school due to another game. We play tomorrow. Stinks we lost a day of practice.

AD messed up big.
