We found that the Bubble is actually a nice little package. The Auto call allows your #5 to stunt off the edge if he only has one receiver to his side. We are actually using a lot of cover 1 with our 1 receiver CB and cover 3 to the 2-3 receiver side. My DL is too damn high but that is why video is great. We go to a full contact camp next week for 4 days. Bang, Bang. Find out if we are where we should be. No one out there that has the balls to run BUBBLE. We like it, guys going in different directions. What a way to mess with the OL, Gotta Luv It!

We have the Bubble Package. But your right Coach Cox, not the balls to run it. The HC is a conservative coach and the defensive coaches are not ones who are big on preparing. Or, should I say they all have there own ideas of what they wanted to do with the defense.

We did however run the Slide package with really good success.

Slide is a nice little package. That's all one coach ran last season and won a championship! Our Auto call makes us almost a 5225 except we like to combo cover: Cover 1 to 1 receiver side and Cover 3 to the 2-3 receiver side. We are having more fun running this defense then I thought we would. My Son [DC] is lovin it. We have Base, Rip, Liz, X, Tilt and Pinch with 2 stunt calls installed. And we have Bear and Bubble with 2 stunt calls installed as well. We are running a combination of Cover 1 free with Cover 3 and combo with Cover 1 and Cover 3. We color call our coverages. We also have Auto Call and Robber in. We are ready for Contact Camp. We haven't felt the need for Slide yet, but will install a #5 at a SS spot to help with the 3 and 4 verticals we will see down the road. I will post film from Camp!

That 2nd clip [Bubble LF 22 auto] was really 5225 Bubble LF. Both the #2 and #5 came from the LF and #2 from the Rt came as well. The Rt side #5 had 2 receivers to his side so he stayed home. Our 'Auto' call is in reality a 5225 call. But we still play a cover 3 to the 2 receiver side, and cover 1 a single receiver side. We run a lot of combo coverage.

The 5225 bubble gives the apperance of a 4-3 with ng off 2yds,is it more of a 1-2 nd and 10-long call?

Probably won't run it in a true short yardage situation, but we will run it almost in any other given situation. It is harder than hell to block. If you have a quick Nose, it's very deadly. It's a automatic five man stunt. We will play mostly Cover 1 behind it. After Camp, for those guys interested, I will show how we call this defense. Field, boundary, middle of the field calls vs pass or run

Very interested in how you call the Def. I am sure something like that will be most benificial to the defensive coaches.

The slide was the best thing since slice bread. One of the things about running the 353 is that you have to be able to shift and move your look to counter certain sets. The Slide was a very easy add and it was a great addition to the base, tilt, and goal line. (The base is the other shifts that was shown in the playbook.)
