I'm doing it in three parts. Although I videoed it all. Next part is Stretch and Jet. Part 3 is Gap and Cross

Coach Cox,

I am one of the slow kids that usually sits in the back of the class, however I am trying to change my ways :).  In looking through your manual, I see the Blast series but do not see a Power series.

What are the differences between 26 Blast and 26 Power?

My first two thoughts are it has to do with the QB Reverse Pivot, maybe no RP in Blast, RP in Power...or FB positioning.  FB elsewhere in Blast, and lined up as a lead in Power..... am I close?

I,am thinking it,s red I 26 toss,qb reverse opens toss and up hole to corner. Red I 26 blast qb reverse to blast rides the tb hands off and rolls out, blast sets stretch and jet up,or how ever you set up your series on the defenes reaction. So in short I think Power is Toss?

I have added Power to the playbook. Are you running UTC or Pistol. The only difference is on Power the WB blocks OLB. In Blast the WB blocks corner because you want want consistency within the play so that Blast and Stretch look like the same play. You run Power when you want to just pound and ground. I hope this helps!

Along those lines, on Blast/Stretch series is it worth blocking the CB?  I'm coming from DCWT and we rarely blocked the CB and let what is similar to your Stretch motion take the CB out with the fake - which it almost always did.  So you run 26 Blast again and again until the CB stops looking at QB's fake and then you run 18 Stretch naked.  Since the QB isn't blocking like in the traditional DW toss play, I would hope his fake is good enough to count as a block and then use the WB to block inside - either OLB or S.  Thoughts?

Also, is it worth having Blast and Stretch in the play call?  I've got 5 ADHD kids on my team and I'm wanting to make things as simple as possible.  Seems like you could just use 26 & 18.  Am I missing something?

I'm really enjoying exploring this offense and think it could be a good fit for our team.

Thanks

If I get the kids I think I will get then I am running this as Pistol.

Here are my thoughts and please don't hesitate to pick them apart.  There are lots smarter football coaches on here than me :)

I would think 26 Blast is to be a quick hitter, and I am not sure I am gaining a ton by having 26 Blast and 26 Power.  In other words, I don't know that I would recognize when to make the change with the WB blocking.

I do see value in a Blast/Power series and a Belly series.  In Belly the QB would ride the exchange much harder, really trying to compress the defense.  Blast would be more of a quick handoff, like in your install video.

Maybe 26 Blast, 26 Belly, and Belly Right 18 Sweep, or Blast Right 18 Sweep.  This would indicate the desired HB action but still name the ball carrier and hole.

Does this seem sound to you?

OK....I just saw the thread introducing the Power series and after a quick perusal, Power looks like Belly to me, correct?
