What is the difference?
I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, but as I understand it Blast is run away from the FB side with the Pulling G and FB switching assignments.  Basically a backside power play.

I always thought a Blast was basically a Dive, but with a lead blocker... typically a FB.  A Power is a run that has one or more lead blockers, often pulling linemen, and typically run off-tackle.

Just realized this question was posted under Coach Cox Systems, and I am not familiar with his systems, so a Power and Blast could be defined differently for Coach Cox.

In the new playbook, it is FB and pulling guard change blocks as well as run to the backside away from the FB

FB leads to the backside.  If I remember the old playbook, blast was still power side, not backside.

I looked it over several times. The difference in the 2 comes from who is responsible for the DE. In Blast is is FB. In Power it is BSG.

Apparently, the difference is the point of attack, which makes sense:  http://www.nysso.net/plays/blastandpower.asp
