Moved to the 8th grade this year as o-line coach and assit O corrrinator .We went 5-2 and the 2 due to secondary issues  ??? .Any ways, was asked last week to move to the HS as O,and D-line coach.I know what I.am doing and i,am confident in what I do.Here is the thing.I have coached in the 10-13 yr olds for 6+ yrs and at the MS level for 1 year with great success.I also am always studying .clinics and buying d.v.d,s to expand my knowledge.I would like to move to the freshman next year .just to get 1 more year of knowledge under me.So what would you do and or say to the HS coach? Curious.

I had alot of fun in the HS ranks.  I found there was far less politically nonsense at the HS level.

by far less i meant relatively speaking.

--Long days and season grind... its year round to start

Whatever your workweek is 40+) then comes practice 345-545, hang around after meetings with coaches/getting kids out locker room another hour, drive home/dinner another hour depending, after that is planning/calls/texts/ with other coaches sometimes/most times 3-4 times a week...thats another hour, you have film study  (varies by day of week); as much time as you need for film study...then you have film study with players on Saturdays; coaches meeting Sunday evenings, etc. Injuries are more serious and more frequent, something you deal with way more on the HS level, Games are longer, rotation is key having to deal with that all the time, Off season Weight Program,  Spring Practice, 7 on 7 Tourneys... Summer Camps...You need to think about Long term committed, both to the school, players, and community.

Plus a million other things...its a huge jump...just how much you are willing to put in...how good you want to be, how bad you want it..and how much time you really want to be involved.
