If you are starting to use the "10"
« on: August 17, 2015, 01:26:30 PM »
Had a couple messages about the 10 recently, guys gonna use it and so on.

I'm going to go over somethings you must and probaby should only use your first year in the 10.

- tackle, pursuit, and block avoidance work every day
- don't use special unless you plan to face a spread team, or a team that uses more then 3 split outs.
- drill base rules daily : gap players vs cover and free players
- drill base techniques daily
- drill alignments daily

That's it. Don't make calls, don't get cute, stay simple and aggresive. Don't be afraid to be in cover 0 because guess what if you get beat in cover 0 your odds would've been only a smidge  better with a free player over top.

I'm always available to call, but the out the box 10 is simple, the coaches who game plan will evolve it into what ever they want.

i'm sorry.  i'm talking about the HB pass option.  i'm trying to figure out what to tell the CB coach, and right now it's Jam at the LOS, do not allow release.  try to watch backfield, release receiver and move to support the run when you recognize it is NOT a pass.

but if I were coaching against the 10, a halfback pass would be a really good play.

Ideally, the DEs or whomever you have designated contain player will stop the back prior to exiting the backfield, but it is possible that player could get blocked.  also, containing it doesn't mean the back can't get the play off.

Hbo pass would only be a good play once... but honostly you wouldn't get I'll it off clean.

Mlb had ball side line to sideline.
Fs doesn't attack until ball crosses Los
If you're a cover guy stay on your man then attack.the te release would help if he wasn't jammed correctly and the fs had a thumb up his ass
