Corner Play
« on: September 07, 2011, 02:02:42 AM »
Question:

Most of the corners in our division play right up on the line of scrimmage.

on plays like '24' where it has the TE blocking Corner or 2nd level defender, should i just ignore the corner and have my TE go straight for a linebacker?

Te is supposed to block nearest linebacker on all plays to his side except on a sweep call.

nearest backer- we tell ours from C gap out.  typically we'll know prior to the game via our scouting.  if anything, we'll adjust it game time.  last week, i sent him to ILB for the same reason you describe
