Do I Show the DC Punt Before it Really Counts?
« on: September 01, 2011, 02:51:50 PM »
In our league we play a 9 game season. The first 4 games do not count in division play. Would you guys show the DC Punt in these games if you knew you were being scouted. Our kicker is pretty good and i'm thinking it doesn't matter. They will scout the "read" a few times and not ever put a returner back because they are afraid of the fake and we don't kick to him anyways so they just have to live with Shi$$y field position.

To be scouted succesfully you must "DC Punt" and "DC Punt/Pass" in the same game.  Until that happens, you're good.

And, when it does happen, the defense is in deep crappola.  To defend you, they must put a PR man back PLUS a defender on QB.  The FB just changes the pass to the SE if QB is covered.  The MOMENT you see the QB covered and a PR man back, the next time you're in a punt situation, RUN the ball or PASS the ball, to where the PR man backed up from.  Once you realize you can do this very time they put the PR man back, you will realize it's impossible to defend DC Punt.

What you hope is that your opponents read this.  Then you don't have to trouble with installing all the plays, because they won't know if you don't have them!

What?

He means that, if an opponent prepares for DC Punt and you run a regular play on 4th down - he's screwed.  He has one less STUD defender.

Picked up 35 yds on the "punt". They put a guy deep and QB hit FB in the flats wide open! Fun game.
