Does Personnel Fit DCWT?
« on: October 21, 2016, 10:27:00 PM »
Question for all the experts here, especially those that have experience running DCWT and other systems as well.

Let's say you have the following players:

One really good player that could play HB or FB, definitely seems like best option for FB.

Two pretty solid players that have pretty decent speed.  One is a little faster so he would probably go to WB.  Other kid would likely go to HB.

No one can really pass the ball outside of maybe a simple slant pass.  It's easy enough to find a smart kid to hand the ball off and even be a blocking QB on toss, etc. but just no one that can pass.

That's it.  No one else really has any speed at all.

So the question is, is there enough there to really run the DCWT?  Would you be better off running Double Wing?  Or even I-formation with your one really good player as the feature back?  Or for that matter just go all Beast?  Any other thoughts?

DCWT is designed to be run with average players. The passes are designed for a below average qb.

DCWT is about "out formationing" your opponent.

I don't think you would have a hard time at all with that personnel.

You could probably run any of the systems you described including DCWT.
