We had wristcoaches and the kids memorized the plays by code names also. As a result they were able to go really fast. Ran into problems practicing because the defense memorized them to, plus we had kids play both ways. We had to use 3 numbers with a hot number.
This is probably the only problem I ran into as well. Usually small numbers, everyone plays both sides. Bu half way through the season, most kids know "Black 79" is 18 Sweep or whatever, so when we are running team O vs. a scout, everyone on the D knows what play is coming. They're kids, they want to win whatever we're doing, so they cheat. Tough to get a good look at times, but to counteract that I would get another coach to instruct the defensive loudly and get their attention while I call in the next play.

That is why you use a very simple code
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

We run no huddle with wrist coaches. 3 color coded columns. 3 number system. Will change which 2 numbers are hot, first 2 or last 2. Have excel template for changes. Only time consuming work is the printing and laminating. Works for me.

Anyone run DCWingT without a huddle and wrist-coaches?  I am moving from DCUBSW this year and really liked the no huddle and wrist-coach approach.  I especially liked seeing how the defense was aligned to our formation and then would call the play.

Works very well. Called out formations from the sideline.  If no call was made, the aligned in the base formation.  I could call any play 4 different ways
