TE questions
« on: August 12, 2018, 03:25:15 AM »
i probably missed it through several reads and watched video, how many of you if any play the TE in a 3pt? I've seen it off and on in some videos and don't see the point given the TE assignment other than maybe to shift down lineman over.  Any of you narrow or widen the gap based on right 65? Anyone ever find an end and not a SAM or DT playing inside if the nasty gap is large enough?

First year dcwt we did a 3 point and as planned the 9 tech widened, half way through the season we saw more 6 and 7 techs, and only saw these in the playoffs.

Second year, went stand up 2pt TE...no difference,  half way through the season the 7 techs came back.

Just try and use what ever you guys like... ot your te likes

I used a 3 point to allow the DE to recognize "this is the kid I line up on".

If someone puts a defender inside the nasty split, you ALWAYS RUN (or pass) where the player WAS that moved into the gap.  If it's the DE, run the "8" hole.  WB should crack him as TE releases to block downfield.
