DW strikes again.
« on: September 15, 2018, 03:47:36 PM »
I watched our local high school team play the conference perennial door mat last night. They beat this team 56-0 last year, New coach brought in DW this year. The door mat team won 42-40. most stop we had last night were the result of fumbles resulting in a lost ball or long yardage.  It was funny listening to the announcer try to describe the offense.

most of the game can be seen here:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ENcBQVnf8o

They tried to give the game away when they got away from the DW.

They did. You can see it's a work in progress, but a great start.

Our coach is in his first year also. He is a product of our school, having played here. His stud running back was ejected late in the game last week for kicking at a kid who was twisting his ankle in the pile. So, he had to sit out this week. Kid is a stud, averaging 236 yds. per game for the first 3 games. The new coach didn't have enough faith in his back up and went totally pass crazy. You can see later in the game, the running game was there and would have helped the passing game. It was a game we should have won. But the transition in just one season for the opposing team was very impressive. This was the first time they beat us in many years.

Very good stuff...

Seemed definitely like sound play calling from the Offense as well..... Some plays they would just run over and over again if they were working....  I love it....
