New positions for 2019???
« on: January 15, 2019, 10:43:34 AM »
Anybody moving around for 2019???

I'm staying with the Bengals organization after having some high school offers to coach the Spread.... (HAHAHAHAHAH yeah right)....

Going to pickup a 10U team. Division 1 NORCAL.  This team won the 9U championship last year out here and apparently has the three best running backs in the league....  I've accepted the OC position with total control of the offense and I get to pick my own staff below me made up of three assistants (O line, backs, QB)

My offensive scheme will stay largely intact.  I had toyed with the idea of running some pistol sets (as an expansion to my Gun formation) but because I am moving DOWN in age and this will be their first year immersed in my offense I feel that UC and Gun will be more than enough.  Power/Wedge/Counter will be a focus of ours from DTDW, and from Gun we will be running a lot of Power, Power Lead with our QB, and more that likely a ton of trojan sweeps....

I feel that the read option from Gun is too much for 10U so i'll scrap it until next season when we are defending the 10U title..... LOL

I've been a HS coach for the last several years.  I've landed a new HS job, but it looks like they may want me to take over their feeder MS team, which is really a co-op of 4 different MS.  We'll see what happens.

Right now my coaching future is up in the air. I could go back with my Org I coached with this year and if I do it will be on the 8U or 10U level as a coordinator. Or I could end up with another Org all together(coached there in the past) and I have no idea what my role there would be. Hopefully a HC of their TM or MM team. It all comes down to my son. He is 13 and has 1-2 years left of youth football and though he didn't play this past season he said he wants to play at least 1 more season. Right now he is currently training in BJJ and MMA and is really enjoying it. If he tells me he wants to concentrate on training and give up playing football, then I might not be coaching at all as he trains 3 days a week and I am his ride to the gym.

After spending the last 13 years coaching Varsity in VT, I'm moving to the Sarasota, FL area and possibly looking for a High School or upper Youth team to coach with.
Been a Def coord for 8 yrs. And an Off coord for the last 5 running the UCDW and also the Murphy
Style Shotgun DW with great success.
If anyone knows of anything down in the Sarasota,  FL area please let me know or if anyone just wants to talk UCDW or Murphy Style DW I'm good for that also.
PS I work for my inlaws running a family business so I can come and go as I please so practice time will never be an issue.

I will be coaching the same middle school team again.  I got offered the JV team but they went ahead and gave it to a high school assistant after they got tired of waiting for me to answer.

Our youth program folded last season and the high school head coach is active in getting it back up.  I been asked to run that, at least until we find someone to pass the baton to.   We will see how that goes.

Unfortunately I donít move until 2020. You anywhere near the Petaluma area. The training center for the coast guard is there and I was thinking about trying to head there for 4 years.

OK Dave I'll sweeten the POT.  You can be The Header and I'll be the T-Holder /"Get Back" Coach...

I told Dave the same thing.  Then I started thinking, if I canít meet his standards, heíll fire me.  That would suck, giving him your team and then getting fired from it.  I have been second guessing that offer ever since.😁

Circling back down for a USA Football Rookie Tackle team...as Dawgs 2.0 aged out last season.
None of them suck, they just haven't found what the kid is good at yet.

2 years ago I moved up from youth ball to the DC of a struggling varsity program.

Now after back to back state championships our HC has left to pursue a couple of college AC job offers and I was selected as the new HC.

Still pursuing a couple of guys to come in as Coordinators for me but most I've talked to are taking lower level jobs for more established programs with bigger budgets that can pay can pay more.

Hell I need all positional coaches on offense too. If you guys know anyone around Grand Rapids, MI send them my way.
