134, dart, making sure I'm on same page here

the 134 is the belly counter tackle trap right?
If so that is one of my top 3 favorite plays in all of football. The truck play, wing counter, XX reverse & Sally look similar and I love each one!

The dart play is BOB blocking (as far as I know) with the backside tackle pulling up thru inside the playside tackle...am I in the same ball park here?

That was the original way it was blocked. It then morphed into a LB trap. That play still gives me nightmares.

can you elaborate and/or diagram the play as it is now?
for me what I did that was as close to this as possible was to have playside T or TE kick out DE and the wing block down inside on 4 or 3 tech. This created, usually a massive hole, I then pulled backside tackle up thru. I ran a counter thru this and I ran power toss thru this. Kinda same deal?

Around 2000 or so several coaches started blocking it this way:

AST- Wrap to first backer past the center

ASG- On /Out

C- On/Away

PSG- ON/OUT or combo down

PST- ON/OUT

TE- Second level

It made the play even more difficult to defend & was great against the over fronts people were playing to Wing T. We ran a version of it 2 years ago from the Spread. I got the scheme from a well known college coach who I have on speed dial. It's great when I call, because I ask a question & he flies off for 20 minutes without taking a breath. He makes me seem like the silent guy.

Is it me or when you run guard trap out of trips or loose doesn't it feel like we lose some punch in there.

We love trap, I think it's one of the best plays in all of football. In our Spread it has been very good to us. We really don't worry too much about  packing punch because if teams load the box we are throwing.

Watching Bishop Amat I saw from, below, sometimes with TE sometimes without

...............O.......O.O.C.O.O...................O
........O.......................................O
..........................H..Q

Q fakes hand off to H, H takes a few steps and blocks 1st defender to right of center
the right guard and tackle both pulled to left, Q kept ball and followed
fast effective ran several times as a counter trap

There is a contingency of coaches that believe pulling from spread, or pulling with no TE is taboo for some reason. Even trap is taboo. I show above example to show not only is pulling a G viable but you can go apeshit crazy and pull both bsg and bst.

Sounds like a called QB Counter Trey. It doesn't seem as if there was a read, or was there? What did they do to hold the BSDE to keep him from mauling the QB when he pulled?

The reason I'm asking is there was a coach over on Huey's a while back that wrote a really good article on GT option. I haven't seen anything from him on there in a while, but he went by the handle jhanawa. I think he was in AZ. Anyway, he ran GT option from this formation (among others), but he would pull LG and LT from it, as kickout and lead for H. QB reads BSDT for give or keep to H, and read BSDE for pitch. Either the slot in orbit motion, or the flanker in twirl motion would get into pitch relationship with QB. It was a pretty nasty thing to behold. He ran it  with upper level youth for some years, then at the highschool level.

I think the H back run was being "bit on" then they hit the QB counter, so to answer your question the bsde sees the H back coming at him.
