Ya, itís like theyíve talked about having D3 titles at nationals for like 8 years.

I canít see PW changing at National level any time soon. Theyíve billed the weighted divisions as their main safety selling point. Now they gotta go back & say ďoh, actually the O/L is way more dangerous.Ē Amidst all of the lawsuits, I just canít see it happening any time soon. I wouldnít be surprised if they fought us on this tooth and nail.

Part of this is our region rebelling against PW because they didnít help us in our fight to save youth football in CA. Our region recieved very little support from PW as legislators fought to kill youth football all together in our state. That lead to half our region pulling out of national play. And now weíre continuing to pull away. I could see us eventually just completely leaving PW all together if things donít change.

I'm thinking the same.

Pop Warner at nationals is nowhere near what it used to be. One of the best areas (DC and Baltimore) along with some other very strong conferences and associations have left Pop Warner. Many of the Miami kids are no longer chosing Pop Warner and AFY teams are starting to show up all over Floriduh which has long been a PW stronghold. Kids and coaches are starting to see through the weighted bs. Pop Warner either goes unlimited across the board or they will disappear.

The ironic part is if they switch to Unlimited they would be the biggest thing in town because they do a lot of things right. Like min plays and focus on education.

I heard from our org president that Wescon region is going the same route.

Thatís what I heard as well. I know Nevada is in. My understanding is the entire Western region. But iíve only seen our conference & Nevada come out publicly w/ it so far.

Age based unlimited divisions for Pop Warner. About time IMO.

No 3 point stance for the younger kids.  Most of them can't get in to a decent 3 pt stance anyway.

So most of Mid Florida Pop Warner decided to go unlimited with the notable exception of Ocoee and Sanford. So they will be a hybrid league. They will be both weighted and unweighted, with unweighted carrying a majority of the teams. In fact Ocoee is the automatic conference champion for D1 as they are the only team remaining in that division for weighted rules.

Well Mid Florida is huge so from what I can tell, they split in half. The issue is they are still D1, D2 and D3. So Ocoee is going to have to play a D2 schedule or play games out of conference.

Heck, Mid Floriduh used to be bigger. A bunch of teams split off years ago to form another conference. It was basically the coastal teams. Due to the conferences location they can easily travel to play non con games. After a yeat or two PW will finally, hopefully, move to unweighted ball. I think it will take over in Floriduh quickly. If Miami buys in weighted ball is done in Floriduh. Once that happens, the Miami teams will be absolutely insane. The talent down there in the local unweighted leagues is pretty awesome. The PW coaches will poach those kids quickly with dreams of Disney.

From what I heard, Miami voted to move to full unlimited.

They have wanted it for years. There are a bunch of unlimited leagues in Miami and they have been taking a bunch of talent from PW the last couple of years. I expect that to flip back and for Miami to dominate nationals again.
