Personally, I think their mascot looks more to be based on this guy:

"I want to show any young man that he is far tougher than he thinks, that he can accomplish more than what he dreamed and that his work ethic will take him wherever he wants to go." #BattleReady newhope

Naming the mascots for each team that you've coached for:

Me?
Eagles, Rams, Vikings, Hawks, Imps, Falcons, Warriors, Dragons.

--Dave

Patriots, Eagles, Chargers, Ponies, Force

That's quite possibly the most odd name I've seen.

There's a school here that has the Gobblers as its mascot, which I've always liked. Although Coach Q's Whirlies is pretty darn good.

What's your state's oddest mascot?

I'm guessing you might be in the same state....Virginia?

There's some odd ones in the state between Gobblers, Truckers, and the Caissons....but the most odd might be the Flying Flucos

Flying Flucos made me laugh!

Illinois has some weird ones, too:
Wooden Shoes
Cornjerkers
Orphans (boys teams) & Annies (girls teams)
Two teams named Pretzels

Giants, Jaguars, Rebels, Ramblers

Coming out of HS I made a recruiting trip to a D3 school in Illinois, the Knox Prairie Fire.

Theres a private school in Wisconsin with the mascot as the Popes, and the girls teams are the Lady Popes.

Coming into this high school season, the longest winning streak in for a HS team in the country was from a Wisconsin HS, the Kimberly Papermakers.

Did they wipe away the competition?
