What's your state's oddest mascot?

Clear Creek Gold Diggers, but to be fair, they probably came up with that mascot name long before the Kanye song.
Rocky Ford Meloneers
Rocky Mountain Oysters - Colorado Rocky Mountain HS in Carbondale
Steamboat Sailors, which is only weird if you've been to Steamboat. Not exactly known for navigable water
Beetdiggers - Brush HS
Burros - South Park HS (yes, that South Park)
Lambkins - Ft. Collins HS
Skiers - Vail HS
Mission Statement: To create a Football Family that our players and parents can't imagine not being a part of.

This is hilarious.

I didn't now that term was well known outside of Colorado/Wyoming. The folks in Carbondale must have a hell of a sense of humor.

I considered moving to Orifino, Idaho at one point.  I always thought their mascot was cool.

Just one team, "Renegades".

I want to join in, these are all high school mascots I've been a part of.

Indians (first coaching volunteer job while in college)
Cougars (my high school, which just won the MD 4A state title last night)
Knights (student teaching days)
Wolves (first real teaching coaching job)
Red Rams (fun to teach, hard to coach job)
Knights (return to old stomping grounds)
Seminoles (fun job, great kids, and good staff)
Jaguars (taught at school but didn't coach, was at the Seminoles)
Bears (my current gig which is a great place)

Just my take on a career assistant coach from working in four different states. Having worked in different parts of the country it's a learning experience to see how football culture is different in each place. How coaching is different and in the same way how it is the same.

Naming the mascots for each team that you've coached for:
I don't think any of them actually had mascots, but if they did they'd probably match the names of the teams:

Cowboys
Rough Riders (or Roughriders)
Rebels
Blue Devils
Saints
(I told Coaches Kenny & Eric, "How about that, we went from devils to saints in 1 year!")
Navajos ('Hos according to Eric)
(forgot what we called the all star team)
Jets
Cardinals
Giants
Braves

Dolphins, Colts, Chiefs, Blue Devils, Wildcats, and Vikings.

I once applied to be HC of a HS team dubbed "The Purple Pounders" just to say I did.

Redcats is a unique one.

I know of a "Redhawks."

I thought it was funny when I used to coach against a bunch of teams who were the Yellowjackets, but their team colors were Orange and Blue.

Also, somewhere I saw that there's a HS in Butte, MT who are the "Butte Pirates."  And I thought "Purple Pounders" had an unfortunate ring to it...

Here are some others I found with a quick Google search...
