I had yesterday off. I didn't leave the house.

Lol

Yeah where I was inside a restaurant
I could "see" the dark from my booth all clouds so nothing really to see here Big whoop
Then stepped outside for 3 to 4 seconds to feel a drop of temperature of 10 degrees
And went back to a great meal

It was absolutely breathtaking  ;D

Not sure why all those people were headed out
At  about 9 pm the same thing happens
Gets dark and the temp will drop 15 degrees

Article in the paper the Beatrice airport was jammed with private planes, zero room to land any others- all these people came in for- pretty much nothing

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

was kind of a dud up here in the northeast.  I stepped outside to see co-workers holding old Keurig Coffee boxes over their faces as they stared up at the sky, others were making shadow puppets on the ground...some woman had a styrofoam cup that she was holding up and directing down onto a piece of paper on the ground...it was all pretty anticlimactic.
If you show up for a fair fight, you are unprepared.

Actually, at work we had a few people with the special glasses, a piece of welding mask glass that was certified to stand up to the UV rays (14 rating or whatever that is), and a guy with a telescope with a solar filter on it.  So I saw the thing a few different ways.  It was kind of cool.

I work at an engineering company, so I figured we'd have plenty of people with ways to see the thing, and I was right.   :)

We had clear skies but with only 80% eclipse there was not much of a change. The reality is that a solar eclipse is not as rare as people think. The amount of the US that was exposed was the big deal. There will be another in about 8 years and there was one back in '78 I believe that I remember. The areas that had totality was the big deal. And it really wasn't. Much better pictures on the tv then what most got to see in person.

That is why I didn't even go outside. I knew there would be pictures.

With most things I prefer the real deal over pictures. Not this though.
