O.k a little back story. I was told at the beginning of the season i would be taking over the offense from our header because he didn't want to be on the field the whole game because he is also the 14u OC and Pres of the Org. Well that never happened. Then he went out of town for his anniversary so I was supposed to take over the team and run things for that game. What does he do, he brings in a 10u coach top run the team and we lose 7-6. Then we get the dance scenario for the play off game and one again he brings in 10u instead of me running the team and we lose 13-0 and I don't even think we got a first down(I missed the first quarter). So there you have the background of my full frustration.
Wait, wait, wait, wait.....I can let that go
You missed the first quarter? Might that not be a clue to some of the issues surrounding your situation? I mean, since he can't be reliable then he needs someone else to be.

Well I was at my son's game. His game went over by about an hour due to it being the play offs and no time limit on his games. Normally his game at most would go 2 hours, which would have left me with plenty of time to get to Orlando. But his game went 3 hours and I actually took him out of the game before it was over in attempt to make it on time. It was out of my hands. His mother couldn't take him and I don't have any other family in the area who could take him. Honestly I shouldn't have went to the game at all. I wasn't needed as they were doing a great job of scoring no points without me. When I did get there, I did my job of making sure to get kids in and at least get some token playing time.

I am not saying you should or shouldn't go to your son's game. You know what is the right thing as far as that goes. Regardless, you missed the 1st quarter. We told players that no absences were excused. They all have repercussions because the reason you are not there still does not change the fact you were not there.

Anyway, do what you want to do. I think you should coach the game. The season is done when this team is done playing.

Well my head coach didn't have the same philosophy considering he missed 2 games with one of those being our first round playoff game.
Also a quick update.  I am at nationals and we won our first game 20-6. Should have been a shutout but gave up a touchdown on the last play of the game. We have a game tomorrow and if we win that, which we should, then we start the knock out round on Saturday.

Good luck tomorrow
Thanks. We won 12-0 and are the 3 seed going into the knock out round. Barring unforeseen circumstances we will be playing the defending champs in the first round. The way we are playing right now, we can play with anyone. Our best running back is playing out of his mind and our defense had shut everything minus one brain fart on the last play of the first game and that is why we finished 3rd and not first.
Now the team we are playing is beatable but our issue has not been beating teams we are supposed to beat, it is beating the teams that are evenly matched with. This year we haven't beat a team with equal talent and we haven't beat any of the teams from our league still left in the tournament. But like I said, we are playing our best ball all season right now and if we play mistake free football, we can beat anyone.
We play at 9 tomorrow and I can make that game but I will have to miss our second game if we win due to my daughter's chorus concert for her school. If we win both games, we go to the ship on Sunday and most likely play our arch nemesis. That team from Joe's backyard. I will keep everyone posted.

Yes it is AAU. We lost in the quarterfinals. So we are out. It was the deepest run MM from our org has ever had. We lost to the defending champions. We were just never in it. Last game summed up why I shouldn't have went but I don't regret going.

The finals are set and our league has a representative in every age group and both teams in the 12u bracket are from our league. We are favored(in my opinion) in every age group but 10u and in that age group our 10u champ is our representative. They are just going against a monster from Waco that has been blowing everyone out. At 8u, it is a rematch of last year and it should be a fun match up, where the team from our league has the early edge after winning their pool match up against the team they are playing in the finals. The team from NC has the edge though, as they have a field kicker and the other fran does not.
In 12u it is a match up of 2 of the best 3 12u teams in our league. Though neither of them won our league. One of them is a perennial power from Joe's backyard.
14u is going to be a battle of a high powered offense against a stout defense. The team from our league won our championship are playing a team from Tito's neck of the woods.

Well so far it is 2 for 2 for my league st Nationals. The Central Florida Hawks defeated the NC Giants and the West Orange Bobcats pulled the upset of the tournament by taking out the dominating Waco Southern Panthers 20-12. The least the Panthers scored up to that point was 20 in 2 10 minute halves.

I finished announcing the last 2 AAU National Championships. It was held at Bishop Moore HS.

West Orange who is coached by Ike Taylor, beat the Apopka Raptors going away. Then in the 14 U game, East Orlando lost to the Newark Delaware Knights. It was 14-7, the Knights were down 7-0 at the half.

Overall it was decent football. There were some coaching calls of course I wondered about, but the level of play surprized me. The Delaware team ran DW, SW, & I. Basically they ran the same plays & just formationed the changes. It was Power, Counter, Power Pass, & sweep.

That was the same stuff Delaware they ran all week. So no surprises there. They were really disciplined on defense but I wasn't sure they would score enough to hang with East Orlando. I am not too surprised that West Orange beat Apopka, because they were the best team in our league in the regular season, but I was surprised at the score. West Orange's 6u Flag team is coached by Devin Hester btw. They won our 6u championship beating our flag team in the finals. His kid is surprisingly pretty good, lol. In all our league won 3 of the 4 games. Not too shabby.
