So - I have no idea if I'll run into a problem after this, but I just now went into my account, went into billing and invoices, and renewed for $99.  Just got a confirmation email saying got my payment and good luck for the season, and my account says all paid up nothing due. I never went into their packages or anything, I just renewed it through my account billing and invoice page.

In the past, the $99 youth option wasn't listed, but you could still get it.

Hopefully that's that and I'm good until September 2018.

FYI... exact same for me ($99).  Maybe don't let yours expire and go ahead and renew.  Mine expired later this month.

I'm not "Anti-HUDL."  I'm anti-poorly run, confused, unresponsive, inefficient, waste of time companies.

I have not found them to be any of these things. This is the first complaint I have ever had with Hudl, and even so I sent an email yesterday afternoon, and had a prompt response in my inbox at 6am this morning. It wasn't the answer I was hoping for, but at least it was a clear answer quickly.

Oh, no.  Don't go there.  Dave is HUDL's "lemon" customer.  Everything that CAN go wrong has gone wrong with DP - it's legit, he's not making it up.  Just don't go there at all.

I've never had anything but good experiences with HUDL as well, but that's not DP's experience, so...

I get the feeling that maybe DP is not a modern tech guy.  Like maybe his email addy is @aol.com.... not that there's anything wrong with that.

So I called the phone number of the Hudl rep that emailed me about the free "Hudl Assist."  Got the voice message.  Left a message.  No response, no reply.

How often have you had to deal with them?

I had an issue with them this week where they charged my credit card that was on file as part of a renewal for my team.  However, our costs are supposed to be routed through our conference as we pay them for Hudl.  I emailed them and within 90 minutes, they responded with info that it would be taken care of, but it may take a little while as they sorted it out.  The next day, I got another charge for a renewal on my card at which point, I removed my card from my account (should have done that originally) and let them know that I now had 2 credits that needed to be addressed.  Within 48 hours, they had it all fixed, so I have no complaints about their resolution.

I still love Coach DP no matter what.  :D

Oh, they're great on the phone about saying what they're going to do.

Weve been with them for 6-7 years now
Had tech issues - which was my incompetence resolved in same day- usually hours
ALways very friendly and helpful- always solved the issue within minutes with guys over the phone

There is a reason there used to be 4-5 different vendors at the clinics on this stuff and now there is only one

Yes, and that reason is that they paid enough $ to ensure that they would be the only vender allowed at those clinics.  They paid big bucks to keep others out.  I know one of the former competitors.

Most of the competitors sales plummeted I know several guys that used to sell for competitors- when all of them were at the shows

The smart ones sold out to Hudl- once HUDL got their massive market share and the writing was on the wall- that the Colleges wanted one standard- a High Tech internet based one
And High Schools liked a consistent platform- instead of meeting somewhere and trading DVDs

And in the end, I never received a reply.  Despite the fact that the last sentence in his email to me is "Please reply directly to me via email, or give me a call to walk through it at ***-***-****."

Yes, I'd say Hudl is staying right on top of things.

HUDL can go sodomize themselves.  Our league just sent notification to us on the new pricing so I have some clarification.  If you had a youth account prior to this rate increase, you could get that price for one more season, after that you can get a transition account for $279, and then after that, the low low price of $400.  They clearly do not want the youth business anymore.  It probably is not profitable enough and sucks too much of their bandwidth.  Its a shame, I loved using Hudl, and my players loved it too.  It was great for sharing game film with opposing coaches.  They got some brass balls even trying to advertise a $400 account to youth coaches, many of which are paying out of pocket for it.

For most youth teams- 25 kids- that comes down to what- $15 per player
For us that is well worth the $400- For some, its a deal breaker- a shame
For $279- that's still a real bargain in my book
Im not going back to burning all those DVDs and doing film sessions- which for us count as a practice
