TigerCat 0 vs. 2x2
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:55:23 PM »
Hey Coach,

How would you run your TigerCat 0 vs. a 2x2 spread set? Would it be similar to adjusting to the "Gold" formation...and would your adjustment vs. 3x1 be similar if not the same to the "Yellow" formation.? How does this blitz package do against these two particular spread sets?

The SAME RULES hold up vs. SPREAD 2x2 (as vs. GREEN/GLOLD) & SPREAD 3x1 (as vs. YELLOW) as in the diagrams you are alluding to.  When the TE in each of these becomes the FOURTH WIDEOUT - the SAME man covers him as in diagrams.  QB WILL NOT HAVE TIME TO OPERATE.

Remember:

vs. 2 Backs - 8 blitz
vs. 1 Back - 7 blitz
vs. 0 Back - 6 blitz.

The COVER 0 rules make all the adjustments.0  The more people they SPREAD OUT - the BETTER the success in "Tigercat"!

PS:  We LOVE to disguise "TIGERCAT" as follows:

Coach Mountjoy,

Got another TigerCat scenario for you. If you're facing a spread 2x2 and strong side slot (or slot from where you set strength) motions weak, you now have trips to the weakside. How do you adjust to this?? Does the FS follow the motion and take number 2 while BC takes #1 and WLB takes #3 and gives WSDE a "I've got him call?? Please advise. Thanks.
