I went into detail on how Mike and WS defend quads, Trips, and split backs.  I also provided the option of having the OLBer key the TE for run or pass like a 4-4 does versus the near guard/center and put his depth at 2 yards.  He uses 6 inch steps on his backpedal.

I took the recent DW debate and showed how you should always have one more defender at POA than the DW has blockers by demonstrating the DW's two "tell tales".

This is our 2nd year running the DC-43 and our boys only gave up 4.5 pts a game. Over the 2 yr period of running the D my boys have only given up 3 pts a game. ;)
Our judgement is only as good as our information.

Our HS has moved to the 43 this year.  I suspect that they will be staying with it.  In the last 3 years they have run 353, 44 Split and now 43.

I am thinking of using this version of the 43 at the 7 & 8th grade level.  Any thoughts?

Wouldnt hurt- only thing thats different is the corner play, your hs doesnt stone im sure of it, the kb is a flex... The lb play is closer to what a typical 4-3 plays now the ends will probably never be flex.

Could you unflex the def ends and play a typical 5 or tilt im sure, could you still use over under call in kb yup.

Invest in kb you wont be dissapointed and your boys will have good base fundys for varsity
