Blitzes = 27 and TEO 28 (w/ HB in short motion to PS) Quick Pitch in my playbook.  Simple, but effective.

Same here we would call it Jet 27/28 Quick Pitch. But I am gonna rethink the motion with the HB.

We had a 27 Quick Speed Pitch for the first few games of last season.  Worked out okay because I had a kid who should have been a HB playing FB. The premise was that if they are going to blitz, let em all come through and figure out the LT and LG are long gone and leading for the FB.  HB loads the DE.  Kind of like a screen pass but a pitch instead.

When we moved the kid to  HB where he belonged in the first place and put a bruiser in a FB we stopped running it because the new FB could run through a wall, but couldn't out run the incoming linemen and clear the LOS.

FWIW.

I hear ya.  My FB isn't really a textbook DC FB.  He has above average size and power,  but he also has very good speed.  I almost have 2 HB's at FB and HB.  We work on the quick pitch quite a bit.  It gets wide pretty darn fast.  While our HB "checks" the DE, we usually don't need to block him, so our HB goes to first color wide.  An effective counter for us is fake 27 QP, 33 Right counter trap.  We've hit that pretty big several times.

Please explain the HB's steps in that.

Just a long counter step playside during exaggerated fake pitch by QB and FB, then straight up the 3 hole.  I call this once the DE starts playing the QP and the linebackers are flowing quickly.

Any problem with the QB being in the way of the pulling right guard without the reverse pivot?

It took a little work.  QB takes big step with left foot and then follows through with right foot on fake pitch.  One problem I have had is the pulling G not getting to a beast DT fast enough and DT causes me a backfield problem.  I've run it a lot without the pulling and it worked well once LB's are flowing after a few successful QP's.

So without the pulling, we might almost be looking at Fake Quick 27, 33. Run from Maxi. HB could almost stand still or give a step and head turn, then proceed straight ahead.

Yes.  I like the big counter step by the HB w/ an exaggerated fake by the QB.  First second of the play looks exactly like the 27 QP.

How about freeze fake 37 right 11 trap?

Not sure I understand that play, but I'm interested!  Fake 37?  Is that a fake pitch?  Does Fullback lead through 1 hole or go with backfield fake action?
