Coach Durfee4 that's a great Jetsweep Presentation!!  I like to Jet to TE side and SE side.  We even use an TE Over call/OT Over call....

Flood concepts are great mix for passing game to...

I'm pretty sure that Zach (Big C) would say the same thing here, and that would be to run trap off of jet motion. Personally, I had success with that play this year from our empty quads formation. As long as your QB is a runner (and he better be in the spread), then this play is great.

If you jet well the world opens up to you

From my spread
Jet trap left follow (jet to playside)
Jet read right fb bubble left
Jet dubba bubba draw
Jet kick plays are great too

Weve run Jet Series out of our Spread Single WIng since about 2006
We run:
Jet
Power
Counter
Wedge
Trap 3 different ways
Weakside sweep= against Jet
Power Sweep
Flood Pass
Play Action Passes-2
No play

From the same formation, with either of 2 possible runners?

My mind can always come up with multitudes of plays and formations making it very difficult for me to keep things minimal. Off wildcat jet type plays, what seems to work best for inside runs? I can think of inside powers, trap, dive, counter to go along with a PA pass. However, I don't want to have an overabindance of complimentary plays. The jet was one of our better plays last season, but I didn't use it as part of a series. My base is more of a hybrid single wing.

Vince,

Probably the simplest play to install off of jet/rocket is FB or QB wedge.  If the jet is a legit threat and you have withheld wedge often the interior defenders will start to move laterally which allows the wedge to penetrate and put the past the LOS.  If the linebackers are playing the alley fast as well the wedge will go right into the secondary.  As the game goes on this forces the interior defenders to hold and isolate the away from supporting the alley/perimeter much the same way trap does.

Now I love trap but I have found that most youth level Dlines are hard to trap because they often are not penetrating (due to poor scheme/technique/teaching).  Most  Dlines simply fire straight up and block the blockers making it hard to trap them.   That doesn't mean trap is not usable but from my experience wedge is just a more worthwhile play below MS.

I follow a pretty simple rule though:

1). Wedge a reading/standing line
2). Trap a penetrating/aggressive line.

yes, to either side but our Fb has "shift" call..we can run weak or to strength. Dive traps,counters,powers,jet/rocket and bootlegs are part of our package....
