I have not considered using it with kids but anything is possible.   ;)

I dont think it will be hard to teach in terms of the action, but the recognition is hardest

Zach, thanks I really beleive I could used this in the dw,kinda like we did running coach Cox,s fly series, when hitting the c gap to the perimeter.

I ran a bastardised pin pull on my rocket toss and jet too very effective

It might just be that I don't know how to coach it well, but I have always has issue with trying to pull a center.  It seems I am just happy if he is getting the snap off right.  That would be my only contention with this scheme...

Very doable

Rules:

Front side:Gap on pull (playside)
Back side: scoop to 2nd level

* center is playside
** vs even tech fronts we called dirty to change playside rules to "down, pull"  but only saw that once

We used a "fat" call on base plays to "fold" block so my kids were used to that

Btw kids named it "fat" because of the "fat" people have folds... Kids say the darndest things

Our HS ran pin/pull OZ exclusively as their compliment to IZ for a couple of years.  The rules were:

TE: Gap, down, On
PT: pull to force (if no B gap DL) or gap down (if B gap DL)
PG: pull to force (if no A gap DL) or gap down (if A gap DL)
C: pull to PSLB (I insert where he inserts)
BSG: scoop
BST: scoop

Things that messed it up at lower levels:
1- path of the back too wide
2- path of the back downhill for too long
3- Center not coached well enough to block the PSLB

However...

I would pull the PT no matter what.  If there is a B gap DL, have the PG reach him.  Even if there isn't a perfect reach, the 3 tech will run into the TE's down block.  It affords a lot of room for the PG and simplifies the rules a bit.

Rich

Does that have to do with your numbering system?

Yeah (for me)  it's a pain in the ass, I've never used it, considered it , because I came from that "you gotta Pull somebody" frame of mind,

But  I watched the Colts use it, I read lot about it ,  but I'm not a pin and pull guy , but after hearing Elliot Uzelac explain it, It's too much for my playbook.  It's just ANOTHER thing i have to get them to learn as a base scheme.

I stay with the Tried and true Alex Gibbs Wide zone, nobody ever did it better than Terelle Davis, so Ill stay with that
