On speed...nobody...let him through untouched...it won't matter. On rocket I am pretty sure GOL Blocking rules apply...but I could be wrong on that.

If a dt makes this tackle in any form

Hes really good and just start running away
Your backs are awful
Plays too slow
*it should never happen

On speed your PSG should be pulling in front of that DT, which will slow him down long enough for what you need as long as your WB is full speed when getting the handoff.

Never ran rocket....

G's CROSS the FACE of the DT.  If the DT is charging that hard, he is now blocked.  in most cases, he's passed, untouched, and NEVER makes the tackle :)

Rocket has the TE getting the CB by going behind of the DE. The RT and RG pull across the face of the DT and look inside for uglies, (OLB and S, respectively)

I changed my terminology a bit to have Speed blocking mean almost the same to both sides: FB goes backside, EMLOS (excluding wideouts) goes behind DE to CB, and rest of interior OL on playside pull in front and go to LB level. I use the cue Rocket to mean HB motion right (Lightning is Freeze motion left), the play for me would be Rocket 38 Power Speed.

Wow, thanks guys.

Love this site.  So many good responses and so fast.

I've been away from the game for a few years, and for some reason I thought the rule was not to worry about anyone inside a 3 tech.  Or maybe it was 3 for Jet and 7 for Rocket.  It's slowly starting to come back to me.

Thanks again.

Is he always?  How about if the OG drops into crab stance across the DT, then pops up and continues to play side in case the DT didn't make contact?

If he crabbed across the LOS I wouldnt even have to block him. I hope he does.
The hand off happens so fast he will not even be close if he hesitates, sneezes or anything that slows him down.

So how did Rocket 38 Power Speed work for you?

I'm sure it will work great, once I actually get to run it.   :D  I am running all of this in my head for now.
