Power

So...no one runs true power???  And by true power I mean FB kicks out and BSG pulls to lead inside of the kickout on the play side linebacker.

Surely our youth league isn't the only one that runs power in the country.

We run power, but we kick out with the back side guard and lead with the FB, QB and BST.

Surprisingly....never the best play in the playbook so I stuck a fork in it.  I'd say I have not run a true power play as you describe in a dozen years. Now I am going to fiddle with this zone pin and pull in the near future but pulling G's run traps and kick outs in my book. Just a preference.

Does the Double Wing count like Spider suggests?

IMHO Power is an attitude not a scheme. But as you describe, yes many teams still pull and kick.

I'm a sell-out! This year I finally committed 100% direct snap and I doubt I will go back under center. My current offense is DW blocking scheme (DO-DOR rules) with multiple formations that include UBDW, UB Spread, Beast, & Bear .
Still running my S.A.M. D

I have gone double tight and kicked out with the FB and lead with the BSG and the BST before and it works if you can catch the team off guard and you have some quick linemen.  It is doable when you are blessed with more FB type players then lineman.

We run the doo-doo out of the Power and Counter schemes in middle school.  That's what our varsity is running.  We been instructed to make sure they know how to run power, counter, trap, ISO and toss in their sleep.

Sometimes, it depends on the personnel. If the kids can't get the kick out/pull around, I'll switch it to get a couple of double teams at the hole instead with no pullers.
