Thanks coach.

Next question. How does a receiver determine who is covering him (especially a TE)

We read the flat defender and went from there...we typically went for secondary spacing after...mind you we only had one receiver running the "shoot"

I'm adapting these rules to my offense I'm constructing (32 personnel pistol basing with 2 wings)

Since our blocking schemes are rules based I love the idea of my pass game being rules based as well

While Zach gave the correct answer and will work well for pistol, in DC R&S the QB has less time to throw than from Pistol.  So all cuts are made at 5 yards.  That doesn't effect you at all but does for lurkers with QB's under center.

Coach, would you recommend pushing it to 7 when in the pistol?

If it works for your QB - Yes.  Experiment.  It might be 6 yards.
