Diagrams of Zone Areas with proper naming
« on: August 22, 2013, 11:17:07 PM »
Coaches,

I would like to make a request.  Can anyone share with me a diagram of the proper naming for areas within Zone Coverages?  I have search across the net and it seems each is a bit different. For example in Cover 3 they have outside deep 1/3, middle deep 1/3, hook/curl, flat, etc.

I am looking for diagrams for Cover 1, Cover 2, Tampa 2, Cover 3 and Cover 4.

Areas are based on routes

Pretty self explanatory

Hook to curl is the most common mistaken zone for some reason

not sure if this is what you are looking for but this is what I used to install a defense for 7 on 7 team I coached a few years back. I did not want to simply play man 2 because I wanted to teach the players how to cover a field.

Thanks guys,

It was exactly what I was looking for.

(I was playing on a compressed field so the distances between the hashes are not regulation)
