10 ball drill (for No huddle)
« on: July 16, 2013, 06:32:36 PM »
I ran this drill yesterday and i'm sure others have run it but the AC's and parents thought it was really cool and the kids seemingly enjoyed it, got conditioned and got in a bunch of reps....

I lined up 10 balls, each 10 yards apart in a straight line... So 100 yds worth of footballs..... I stood behind the formation and called a play..... They would run the first play called.... As soon as they'd run about 5-7 yds the runner would drop the ball and they'd run to the 2nd ball as I called another play..... As soon as I called it, i'd start counting down 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 and they would have to run the play before I got to zero or we did up downs......

by the end of the drill they were panting and got a TON of reps running our core plays... I kept it pretty easy at first just going back and forth from Ray 34 Power to Fire Ray 34 Power and back..... I'd occasionally slip in a counter...... But I wanted to get them a ton of reps of Power.....

I intend to do this drill A LOT this season and will soon work in our wrist coaches so that they will start to easily run no huddle and build hustle to the ball.....
