To keep it super simple, the way our routes were designed, power pass and counter boot were exactly the same routes, same goes for counter pass and power boot.....only thing that changed was the backfield action....and that was only 2 different ones kids had to remember.

Worked best on 1st and 2nd downs.

Ive always been a little gun shy on putting in playaction from gun. Alot of moving parts that must be worked on.

Im not good enough of a coach to get that done in only 2 hours of practice....haha

I've always found playaction (and just about everything else, lol) to be a lot easier from gun then UC.  Not necessarily as effective, but easier to teach. Not sure why you would think it's particularly difficult to teach.

Only because we are multiple formation U/C and gun team on O and thats 2 different things id have to set aside time to teach our QB.

U/C we reverse out on everything. To reverse out from the gun is quite challenging.

Plus my QB goes brain dead at times.....haha
