Tracking out of season workouts suggestions
« on: January 25, 2018, 10:04:46 PM »
We are going to start our out of season workouts in February. We go 2 days a week and do a series of body weight exercises. I would like to encourage and reward players for working out on one of the days we do to see them. I’m looking for an app or some other way players can log information or post pictures.  I’m just looking to motivate them a little.

My wife does Beach Body where they are constantly posting pics of workouts, food and so on. I guess that’s in part where I got the idea.

If you have an iPhone or Android, do a search on “workout tracker”. I’ve used Map My Run, Map My Ride, Fitness Pal, and Strava. I believe all of those give the option of logging a general workout. You then post that workout and can share it with friends and/or groups that you set up. Most, if not all have a website you can use if you don’t have a smart phone. Otherwise, you can create a private Facebook group where kids can post their workout.

Feed them!  At the high school we are probably going to use a class room as a hang out, fully equipped with tv and the like in summer.

Our kids eat for free at school. Three meals a day free. I’m working on other food. I’m looking for a way for them to post/track their workouts away from the team

Theres a team app you can use...everyone has cell phones...and we use it bc it scores points per exercise and reps and weight.

We give weekly and quarterly rewards for points ...stand by for the link

I just double checked MyFitness Pal. www.myfitnesspal.com

You can add just about any exercise along with the number of sets, reps and weight if applicable. You can also create groups which allows everyone to follow the progress of everyone in the group.
