Dawgs 3.0

Well, I mentioned on here that I was taking on a new team...they are 7, and this year me and a board member took the team after the coaches quit...about mid way through the season I was asked by the board if I would take the team, after discussing with my wife, my OC and my DC, we decided I would take them...the DC is in, the OC is still on the fence, but I think he is in as well....

They played for the big shiny trophy on Saturday...and they won, 49-12...that was the score at the end of the first half, running clock the entire second half, and coach let the G's and T's run with the football in the second half...we did not attempt to run up the score, we scored three times on defense...our DE took the hand off and returned it, and they then proceeded to throw 2 pick sixes...

Hand shake line...good job, good game...come to the coaches, one shook my hand, they other pulled his hand back and I turned to him and said "really?"...he said, "don't you talk to me" I said "really?" He said "you know what you did, now stop talking to me"...I said "I don't even know who you are"...which was true, I have only had conversation with one of the other coaches in the age group at this point...

After the pictures and celebrations President of the League came over and asked what that was about, I told him I had no clue...I didn't know who he was, and don't know what I did to make him mad...Pres said, well I know I don't have to worry about you...any way...starting fresh with new boys and new friends :P

Should have told him that you told your boys to drop the pick 6's but they just didn't listen.  :P

He said "you know what you did, now stop talking to me"

You know what you did.  You won.

Well, I found out what I did to him :P

I spoke to one of the board members who was at mid field when this took place...who subsequently spoke to the coach...

Way back in week 2 we played this team...coach on the field at 7 year old...but once the huddle is broken, coach on the field has to shut up, no instruction from the field, no hand signals, no communication...anyway...we are playing them and we are on offense and we break the huddle and he is still coaching his boys, so I tell the linesman on our side, he is not allowed to coach once the huddle is broken...coach turns to me and basically tells me to shut up and mind my own business...which I don't reply too, I suggest to the linesman again that he is not allowed to coach once the huddle is broken...in that handshake line he apologizes to me, I told him no worries, I just want to make sure we are all playing by the same rules...

Well, apparently that made him upset...and he remembered it, and is mad at me about it...I chuckled about it when the board member related it to me, I suggested that he probably needed to get over it, as he was going to see me for the next 4 years :P and holding a grudge for that long would not be healthy...

Funny thing when I was telling my wife about it after the game, she asked me if I said anything to the coach, I told her no...she said she didn't think so, but she saw me talking to the linesman the entire game...she suggested that maybe that upset him...she is a genius :)
