Generically speaking, you need to vary your snap count if someone is able to "jump it" .Thats an easy fix, coach needs to coach up his play caller.

--Are "very tough mountain kids" somehow different from garden-variety "very tough kids?"

Why they call it mountain football around here.. tough smash mouth football.   Three teams running Wing T,  two teams running the Split Back Veer and 1 running the Air Raid of all things.

Tony, is mountain-toughness different from any other kind of toughness?  Is mountain-toughness more unique, or is it simply a more descriptive adjective?
