So I boarded a plane headed for Tejas (Fort Hood).  (ZZ Top Album running through my head.)

My youngest is getting ready to deploy to a foreign land.  Could be a E-5 (Sgt) when he gets back.....:)

Gents I brag a bit about a kid who weighed 1o5 pounds as a Freshmen.  Yet, I cant tell you folks enough that his success in the Military is directly related to his experience in JFL and High School Football.  n\\

Gents.  You cannot predict the future!  The MPP of today is the All Conference or SGT of Tomorrow.    Please Please Please pay attention to and Coach up "that kid"!
Not MPP... ONE TASK!  Teach them!  :)

I'm not sure how much ridicule I've taken from the "national championship" coaches for saying this exact thing but I do know that if i had a nickel for every time....

Pretty sure all the "national championship" coaches here and all the others I know have been saying for years that not coaching those mpp kids is a huge mistake. That was a big part of our success at Port St. Lucie. We coached up those kids and turned them into contributors. When they got better our practices got better. So I am kinda confused as to what NC coaches have said that kinda garbage to you. The 3 or 4 on here completely agree with that approach to include me. I certainly know Joe is on board with that. I'll tell you right now, you will not win a NC if you don't coach the whole team. Imo, you aren't a real coach unless you coach up your worst player. In fact, I want those kids. Let me have them every day for 20 minutes.

I don't blame you for staying away from Floriduh.  Unfortunately it is like a black hole. Once you get in its grasp there is no escaping.  There is a vacuum created from a complete lackof culture, common sense and intelligence.

I'll just drink the beer myself.  :P No new coaches around here need advice. They already know everything.  ::)

A coaching buddy of mine up here in Michigan just took a job down there. Not sure why. Haha

It is hard for me to express how much I dislike Orlando. 2nd worst city in America with Miami being easily the worst place I have ever been too. I love big cities, just not those 2. I would rather go to Camden NJ or Detroit.

Orlando does have some very good football. Some of the better teams in the state are in that area. Plus, Joe isn't too far away.

In 40 years, once I-4 is finally done, Orlando won't be so bad.

40 years? They must be way ahead of schedule. Regardless, it will still be the home of the evil mouse, endless bad buffet restaurants and cheesy t-shirt shops that sell glazed conch shells.

Well there is that too, lol. But as much as the tourist stuff can get annoying, the biggest headache by far is I-4. It is the dirt worst. I have never heard anyone not complain about it.
