Huge year for us running sweep.
Most teams this year have decided "we are squeezing down on trap and power"- and off we go around the end!
we had similar results, albiet from the SW not the DW.
had many long TD runs on sweeps after the D clamped down on power - broke much more than any other play.
helps when you have a burner at 1 back (or 3 in DW)

our kid became a MUCH harder runner on power as the season went on - he's naturally more of a true dual threat QB than a SW TB type (we didn't have one of those). so while we had to work relentlessly on him lowering his pads and delivering the blow on power, didn't have to coach him much on sweeps.
the culmination was in the last few weeks. earlier when we'd call sweep (instead of power) in certain short yardage / PAT situations w a favorable edge count if there was one kid in his way, he'd try to dance around him. last few weeks we finally got him to just lower the shoulder and run through the kid - converted EVERY situation

granted if we blocked it perfectly he'd never be touched but in the real world, that's not always the case (as much as it kills me) and your best kid should be able to beat one IMO.
