32 wins, 5 losses varsity and JV

I am including two forfeits (one varsity and one jv this year)  and really should add another varsity for last year ....(recruiting violations)

But our varsity and JV combined record the last two years is a nice 32 wins and 5 losses.  (31 and 6 without the forfeits)

Whats amazing is that I think most of this has to do with being simple.  Everyone knows what we do.

we try to get stronger and faster
we emphasize ball security and tackling skills
we shoulder block, we double team and trap a lot.
we use log blocks and iso blocks
we are primarily a one formation team (double tight double wing)
we try to run the ball (throwing about 5 passes a game at most)
we attack on defense , live and die with man coverage and blitzing a lot
we score on special teams with blocked punts and kickoff returns
we will use trickery and gadgets....at least that's how its viewed by other teams
we "do what we do" and tune out the static.

We are going to simplify our system at our HS this year!

Offense:  Double Wing

Defense:  the GA.Moore 10-1 and 10-1 Special

Last year we tried a "spread" offense - ugh! And the 4-4 defense with various DL alignments, stunt, blitzes; it was so complex that our kids couldn't run the plays correctly half the time!

This year will be simplier and we will be focusing more in practice on "proper techniques " rather than how many plays can we possibly learn today.
