Some SW and 63 highlights
« on: September 20, 2014, 10:53:32 AM »
Here is week 3 highlights of our middle school team. First year running Cisars SW and Jacks 63. Tough loss this week but still saw some good things happen. This team was bigger than us at every position but we still found our selves down 24-23 in the third. It got away from us in the 4th. Still, a lot to build on and again thanks to all of you coaches that are helping me and my team become better!!

I have never ran DCSW, but aren't the back supposed to be closer to the line? Just curious, if I am wrong, I am wrong, lol.

This is a Middle School team
Note the RBs low to the ground stances and fingertips to the ground
The goal is to hide the ball from the Defense
With the size of their line/age- they are definitely tight enough to hide the ball
The younger the kids- the tighter you are

Instead of 2 yards back- they are about 3

Some goes to personal preference
Jarvis Thomas- Maryland Seahawks 13-14 year old team that won the UYF and Daytona Nationals this year- they are in super tight- maybe 1 yard

Coach- nice job on the 31 trap and 18 Sweep Pass both. Once the safety starts jumping the 4 on 18 sweep pass- very easy to get inside leverage with the backside TE
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.
