http://3-5-3defense.com/3-5-3-defense-overview/

This website covers strengths and weaknesses for the 3-5-3 defense.  It also offers a free playbook for the 3-5-3 defense. This is bookstore quality stuff.

It is a high school playbook but should give you some ideas for the youth level.  According to the website youth versions and middle school versions are on the way.

The 3-5-3defense.com website is a great resource for coaches interested in the 353.

Glad you posted the link to it.

Hey fellas, did you actually get a playbook or a link to the site? I got the email asking for confirmation/permission but the link seemed dead to get the pdf playbook?

I have Cousins book already.  I do love this SUPER SIMPLE explanation of linebacker division here for the underneath zones.

Even rockheads can get that.

A link was sent in an email that gave access to the playbook, which is in pdf format and can be saved locally or to iBooks on an iPad.

Its a pretty comprehensive book. That along with the material on the site itself has been a great learning resource.

Its this Cousins system or a knockoff? Or is it just something compeletely different from that. What impresses me the most is the simplistic, clear teaching.

This is nicely done. WEll worth the time - one of the better 353 resources with a very logical approach for the hs/youth game.   Fits in perfectly with what we are doing so Ill actually print this one out.

The Author of the playbook at 3-5-3Defense.com should be speaking in length at next years Double Wing Coaches Symposium ... I guess this is as good a time as any to let the cat out of the bag ... lol ... having a lot of 33/35/Stack Defense presentations next year ...

Anyway, when I announce the speakers and times, some of the old time Delphi Forum members will recognize who wrote the playbook ...

Two teams battle it out in Ohio, both run odd stack.

Lets go in another direction. Is your d-line attacking shoulders, or shooting the gap. I was also wondering if anyone has imployed the 10-1 shinning technique?

to me shooting gap is attacking  shoulders. I dont want my guys avoiding contact...I want the opposition to be forced to have to kick my azz with brute force.

I think most Upper levels would have them attack shoulders, I have heard of the lower levels using either or.

Here's film of a very successful Odd Stack, built on pressure. 22 kids on Varsity.

One of those teams. Pick Central is my next door neighbor. Great program, small D1 school but they play the big boys non-conference. They lost to St X during the regulat season but beat them in the state semi's. Lost the title game to an all boys private school.
