He's ran a couple event these past few years in top fuel Had on win against Tony Schumacher in charlotte and a loss few weeks ago in Pomona against Steve Torrance when he went on his undefeated streak.

I'd have retired right after that!

Love it when folks are touring the pits and someone convinces said innocent bystander to get right behind the car for the fire up after rebuild. Hat Flying and lots of Tears and Snot!!!

Something about being Mid Track at Dusk......You can feel the engine thumping in your chest and see 4 foot flames exploding like the Sun from the Headers!

You got it dusty.

I had a whole bucket of popcorn vibrate out during a pass one time.

The vibration and feeling you get as they pass is like none other.

Did you see what Im working on from my FB posts?

Those gotta be done in a week even with me working 15 hour days
Thankfully Im off MLK day so three days this weekend to complete

**Update**
We have secured a track location, bought 15K worth of soft walls, USAC sanction coming Monday, got club members signing up next week and the racing season starts about a week from now.

Bayou City Quarter Midget Association (BCQMA) is moving forward. we have a facebook page and the website is coming soon.
We are renting a spot on the "Speed Sportz Racing Park" just above Houston in New Caney. they have a B.E.A.Utiful facility and have been nice enough to rent us a spot for less than they can get otherwise. We are of course a non profit and they are not so its cool that they worked with us.

Our first race is May 11th .

We still got a lot to do and stuff to purchase but the track was our biggest hurdle.

Thanks for letting me share this with y'all

That's what makes them so fun to watch, they flip all the time. People like it. The checkbook doesn't.

My wife told me just last night that we are going to the chili bowl next year. And Daytona

It amazes me that people who don't race have no clue what actually has to happen.

I talk to automotive students all day about cars and stuff and most of them want to race and they are asking me how to get into racing. They are like, "I can just get sponsors right?" or the "How do I get a chance to drive for someone?" They think that someone just walks up and hands them the steering wheel to a racecar and tells them to have at it. They want to know how to make money with racecars. I tell them if its that easy then I would be doing it and they wouldn't have a chance.  :D

You may have heard the name Felix Sabates before

I revert to a story Rick Hendrick was telling me during one of his visits to a dealership of his that I worked at (Honda Cars Of Corona)
He said he was talking with Felix and asked Felix how to make money racing. Rick didn't own as much as he does now as he was still new to Nascar at this time

Felix told him if he wanted to make millions racing he'd have to start with Billions

Felix told him something racers already know. You have to love the sport first and don't get in it to make money

Classic.  lol

One of the things that makes the sport so fascinating is the amount of money that's on the line every week, with the Grim Reaper right around the corner.  And by the age of 12, you'd better be the second coming of Juan Manuel Fangio or Richard Petty to get in the door without major sponsorship because the other 99.9% of the drivers out there have to buy their opportunity.
