A new "check with me"
« on: November 03, 2016, 04:27:40 PM »
The "check with me " systems are meant for coaches to be able to call the "perfect play".  In high school and up the coaches have spotters in the box with head sets so its made easier. This is directley meant for youth coaches who run BMJ stuff or close to it.

Through some experiments this year we came  up with a check with me that worked very well.

First the o line
- 2 pt stances
-on check would raise there hand if they were covered... for simplicity sake we looked outside in on both sides of the ball
Second the play caller
- checks mofo, mofc
- calls play with info gathered from line to secondary

Check with me is sent in with the play and is not every play

The sequence goes as such:
-Huddle breaks
-Qb says "eyes eyes" as a reminder we are checking with coach
- qb says a color - o line reports - coach identifies mofc/mofo
- coach calls play to qb

Our check plays are : wide zone strong,  tight zone weak, truck strong/weak- counter weak/strong, play action waggle, 3 step pass (hitch or wheel)

I hate to be the guy that asks for more, but do you got more? I'm trying to learn as much of this stuff as I can and some of those terms I know, the rest might as well by Egypto-glyphics. Is there a set of diagrams or plays that I could reference?

wrist coaches, wrist coaches, wrist coaches!!! we wasted so much time trying to implement a whole language of hand signals from coaches to kids, all 100% completely unnecessary! We did no huddle one year and it was good high pressure, and we could look at defense then call play.

The linemen giving hand signals is cool, I like it,

Wrist coaches are good... but the speed wasnt there

We just the sugar huddle and liked it and use it when we do huddle.

When you only have a hand ful of plays hand signals are easy.

The check with me is just a way i can confirm whos covered and where we have red or white. As a youth coach I don't have the "greatest" spotters.

As far as plays go:
Wide zone strong and weak
Tight zone weak
Tight zone weak
Counter week
Power strong
Truck weak
Play action waggle
1 and 3 step passing...2 concepts
