UBSW Punting
« on: August 08, 2012, 09:29:47 AM »
We are going to Dave Cisar's UBSW this season, and I was looking at his Rocket/Lazer formation and it looks like it would be a nice punt formation as well.  Anyone ever punt out of this unbalanced look?

I was thinking the 3 back could be used for overload situations, where you could move him around.  You could also motion the 2 or the 4 backs and have a nice fake package out of this look.

I will be using this formation as we will not run the spread formations;

   E              G G C T PT               E
                 2     3        4

                          P

I just split the ends out and bump the linemen over. Then you have several options for fakes.

That is the formation Ive used in last 16 seasons
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

We used it last year, but I was thinking how easy it would be to align in Rocket/Lazer then shift into and out of punt.  I want my punt team to be a weapon.  Staying unbalanced and being able to run our entire Jet series out of our punt formation is DEADLY!
